Elizabeth Hong is the executive chef at the Osteria Mozza restaurant in Los Angeles. And her culinary skills must be in the genes. Her mother, Jenee Kim, also loves to cook and owns the Korean barbecue restaurant, Park’s BBQ, in K-Town.
Elizabeth wasn’t the best student and disliked the traditional education system. That led to her mother’s encouragement for her to attend culinary school. Elizabeth enrolled at the Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena.
Elizabeth joined Mozza, first working in the mozzarella bar, to the Pizzeria, and finally to become a chef. Her talents were recognized by her team members and she eventually succeeds Matt Molina after his departure in 2015 as executive chef.
Her Minority is a blog that brings insight on influential women of Asian ethnic background. Some are iconic innovators and lead impactful careers. Others are simply astounding for their past actions or their unorthodox ways seem quite inquisitive.
